Marna Arnell

Marna Arnell

With a BA Psychology Marna began her working career in the field of child development before entering the interpreting field and graduating as an interpreter from Douglas College in 1991. Her experience in freelance interpreting, especially in educational settings led her to join Post-Secondary Communication Access Services (PCAS) as facilitator in 1994. Marna formally retires from this position February 29 after devoting many years of her career to providing valued support to the post-secondary system around services for students who are deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing.

Marna is known for her empathy, her skills as a negotiator and consultant, her training skills, her collaborative problem solving approach, and her genuine care and concern for students, service providers, disability services coordinators, faculty and administrators.

Marna has enjoyed a successful and rewarding career in a field that she loves and respects. She will be sorely missed but students and colleagues alike wish her every happiness in her retirement years. Marna looks forward to engaging in new activities and adventures, as well as spending treasured time with her husband George, their family and of course her adorable granddaughter and spoiled 4 legged furry friend.
