Priscilla Stanbury 2012

Priscilla, who retired in June 2012, was an essential member of our department for 18 years. Her vision for ASE has always been providing our students with practical courses and support to improve their independence in work and life. She had a big impact on hundreds of students and was instrumental in creating and finding funding for several new programs for students with barriers to employment over the years. Capilano University has piloted a Peer Mentoring program for students with ASD, initiated by Priscilla in 2012. Cilla’s creativity and energy inspires us to this day!

Cilla forged many positive relationships with Capilano University departments outside of AWE, working with continuing education and adult basic education to create new courses . She chaired the Capilano U Faculty PD committee for four years and participated  on several division committees.

Priscilla was a loyal member of the Conference Organizing Committee of the DRNBC. She joined this committee in 2004 and served as Chair for four years. Cilla’s enthusiasm has always been appreciated! She helped to organize 9 conferences!
