Joyce Davidson 2008

Years in the field:  1980-2008 Emergency Planning Committee BCIT

Joyce is a respected long time member of the DRN and was instrumental in establishing the Disability Resource Centre at BCIT. Joyce began her work in the DRC just a few years after joining BCIT and has remained with the department until her July 2008 retirement. Over the years Joyce’s initial role in the department as Administrative Assistant evolved into a unique position within the Institute. Joyce’s interest, knowledge and experience in the disability field led her to successfully manage additional roles such as Interpreting Supervisor, Invigilation Coordinator and Supervisor of auxiliary staff, student employees and clerical support.   Committee and Community Involvement:Primary Responsibilities at BCIT: Invigilation and Interpreting Supervisor, Administrative Assistant, Disability Resource Centre

Throughout her years with BCIT Joyce has maintained liaison with secondary schools, agencies, parents, service providers, students and faculty, thus becoming known for her conscientious and caring service. Joyce has dedicated her career to assisting students with disabilities and is deserving of a long and happy retirement with her husband Lance – happy travels, Joyce!
